Unless you are artistic Gary I think you are going to have to spend some money on a graphic designer. This is an important part of you business. I did, I don't want to post my logo on your Q&A unless you say it is ok but I paid for it.

I have had my slogan for years, The Real Debbie Reynolds. Older people know what it means and the younger ones ask. That is exactly what I want.

A logo is generally a graphic representation of your company that you would use for branding.  You'd want to make sure it is used uniformly throughout all of your marketing and really speaks to the consumer about who you are, what you represent.

Ideas abound, the key is to find the right one that fits you and your marketplace, and a graphic designer designs what you tell them you want.  If you want it done right, you need to get a brand, a strategy, and then a logo follows.  What is right for one place or one person is terrible for another. We use our Web Site name and slogan in our logo.  It's also good to have up to date colors.

Our logo is part of our profile mug shot with the emphasis on the brand, colors, and where we list, twist, sell real estate. "Coast to Coast Advertising" Our signs, everything builds on this brand. We can use just the blue country like a watermark on our videos, image arrays so you know where they generated, who to contact. Use your flag, promote your brand for recognition.

I need to create a new logo so it will be interesting to read the rest of the comments here. Currently, mine is the RE/MAX Green logo. but I'm looking to create a new one.   You have to have one of the 2 green designations to use it and I have both.  I'd like to create something unique though.  Good luck with your creation!

Never Thought of going to fiverr.  I have heard of 99designs but that can be from 299 to 599

Hello Gary.  I wanted a brand and did not want to spend the big advertising dollars to make one up.  I went to 'Fiverr'.  There are a large # of artists designers that will give you great ideas and mock ups for only $5.  Cheap way to get some ideas on which way to head.  Maybe save you some set up money or actually be happy with end result.  The MDM between FOR SALE AND PHONE # is what I had designed for $5.  Not great but certainly not bad either.  I use it as my branding on everything.  Fiverr

Generally a logo is a stand alone item and neither contains your website nor your tagline.  (Just search around on the internet for brand logos as well as real estate logos.

I agree w/ Noah Seidenberg to pay a professional to do this. I did that for mine.  You'll want to be clear on what it is you want to communicate (i.e. write a brief).

Gary, any of these are fine. It's a question of what you want to brand. My logo has both my name and my slogan incorporated in it.

I have had a couple different logos. The first is when I live in Roanoke, Va, and I had a drawing of the downtown buildingscape. Now I have one in which I live in Durham, NC, "Bull City," and I have a motif of that nature.
