Ive read good things about this little camera.  It would be a great buy for anyone looking for quality photos at a decent price and very small package (for a dslr).

FYI-Ive heard there are some red-eye problems in some night photos.

PS-Those lenses are ok for nice bright days outdoors, but i wouldnt expect anything other than "soso" photos if youre going to use them for interior shots.  Save some money and get yourself a better lens such as the Canon 10-22mm.

I have the Canon digital Rebel XSi and love it ... bought the body only and also a separate Canon ELS 10-22 wide angle lens to use for shooting interiors.  A tripod is a must, but the photo quality is fantastic .... you don't need to open up the lens to the max though.

Rebecca, I made the purchase yesterday via QVC. I like the idea of a smaller lighter Cannon. I am currently using the Cannon T4i. Very happy with all my previous Cannon cameras. What sold me is the quite mechanism motor on the lens.

I'm a huge Nikon fan - I've owned 4 and love them all. Never had an issue (except when I took it to the beach and got sand inside the lens - my bad!)

I don't use a cannon.  I use a Panasonic camera/movie for both stills and video, it is HD

Rebecca Gaujot, the GO TO REALTOR not an expert however, I see missing range from 55mm to 75mm. There are some single lens to cover 18-140. Not sure if we really need to go up to 300mm in our business.

I prefer Nikon over Canon - don't ask my why - I just like Nikon.

I looked at this camera before I bought mine and a camera buff told me to get the one I decided to buy.

Nikon D5100 with a 18-55 lens and 55-300 also,  It is a DSLR.  I also purchased 150-500 lens to go along with it.  This although the$1100 price has cone in very handy for my rural properties.  This lens is a sigma.  I have been happy with all my lenses.

Nowdays, I don't think we can go very wrong with any of the new name brands, but i went to a comera shop where I could compare all the models at one time.  Made my decision much easier.

This is a great camera. However, nothing but dissappointment lies ahead if you don't spend the additional $400 for a quality wide angle lens and a sturdy tripod. Yes, I see you are young and can hold that camera real steady. Get the tripod anyway. The difference in quality will take your breath away.

In your spare time toy with the video. Your next purchase will be a wireless mike  system. Master the sound, which is even more important than the image and you will be ready for the 'big show."

I don't know about that specific camera (I have a Rebel 3i) but do have the 75-300mm lens. I have not been happy with the stabilzation on it and when zoomed out it is blurry, even on a tripod. They threw it into the bundle when I bought and I am looking at other telephoto options now. The better lenses are around a thousand but may be worth it.
