First, you become a Rainmaker, blog to include the outside world with links to social media, and keep doing it, so they become familiar with you.

 Charles you have zero chance without becoming a Rainmaker. Do you realize that the public cannot see your blogs? 

I try to engage and lead them to my website to get more information. There they can register to be alerted on new listings or learn more about me.

Key to blogging is to be Consistent. As long as you are feeding search engines with valuable content useful to the public,you will start to establish a strong presence online which can lead to potential home buyers and sellers finding you.

Simply blog about what people are searching for, but do it in a way they can see your work (rainmaker account VS rainer).  Write good content, link to it from other places and direct others to your work.

Charles, the OVERWHELMING population of AR users are real estate agents. You will get no buyer/seller leads blogging to this population.

However, your question was, "How to get clients from blogging?" 

1. Go where the citizens are; FACEBOOK

2. Create content, resources, solutions, benefits that will appeal to your LOCAL community(s). Go to Trulia or Twitter and observe what folks in your area are asking about. Trulia is a great place to test your subject lines BEFORE you commit money.

3. Wordsmith your blog to optimize SEO benefits and start creating a volume of resources. 

4. Copy and paste what you place on FB onto AR.

5. BUY FB ADS

6. If you believe more is needed, a little direct mail promoting your benefits would be benefical allowing recipiants the opportunity to VALIDATE you by finding your blogs on FB.

7. Ask for their business.

Hi Charles -- I have received calls and emails from my blogging efforts and very small percentage have become clients.  I look at blogging as part of a lead generation activity as well as marketing.

Become a rainmaker and blog to the outside consumer world, not the social party inside AR.

That means your blogs need to inform consumers and not be skewed to earn points and make agent friends.

Charles Ross - make sure your blogs have Call-to-Action. There are some recorded classes in ActiveRain University - Boot Camp etc, if you can watch/listen to them.

Great question...I have an outside blog that I have started in the last year and have just now started blogging regularly.  I hope to create an audience - if you create an audience who relies on your expertise - become the go-to guy for real estate questions.

Blogging keeps me on the front page of the internet in my area.  People read what I have wrote and then find that I am who they need.

Blogging and using the key words, more than once in a blog, that will come up when people Google.

Blogging about local events will make your phone ring.  I also like market reports.

Jeff, my blog is a conversation starter. I have a few sales/listing directly related to my Blogging effort. 

By providing fresh helpful content that someone can use. That makes the connection, builds the trust. Gets you exposure online as someone creating worthwhile reads with helpful links to more. With images, video embeds to round out the transfer.

Write blog posts with key word phrases that rank well in Google searches.

Our AR posts can be added to Facebook with a click. 

The advise I give is that you should write blogs about any question you've heard from a client more than once. By email, when you're driving them around in your car, etc.  "How are the schools in Bellevue?" " What is this neighborhood like?" "Is this a good builder".

Instead of taking the time to write them a long email, turn that knowledge into a blog post on ActiveRain.  Over time, that collection of knowledge gets discovered by more and more people on Google. 

Blogging is about consistently sharing expertise you have that somebody else wants.  Be the local expert!

Yes Facebook is where the people are for now. But you need to be thinking about the future too and where they may go then. Be prepared.

Most often they do a google search, find my blog, like what they read and hire me to help them buy or sell their home because they liked what they read

The others have given you good advice. You should become a rainmaker so consumers can read your blog.

You keep blogging about things that would attract potential buyers and sellers, link to social media with your blogs. And you keep doing it consistently.

Blogging to show your expertise may encourage someone to call you. Shows off your personality. Etc.

If you are only using ActiveRain than become a Rainmaker. It's a very good platform for obvious reasons.

It's simple people read what you write, then they call or email you.  They identify with what your write or believe you are an expert in your field

By sharing useful information and become source of information and it will come back to you when you least expect
