I have put my picture on my signs for what seems like forever. It gets me a lot of brand/face recognition around town. People come up to me in public places and introduce themselves because they feel like they know me from my signs in their neighborhoods.

I don't see a need for a picture on listing signs, especially for women agents.  It may invite unwanted persons.

I would think this would be helpful so more people could identify you, and it would create more synergy w/ your other mktg elements (e.g. direct mail, website, etc).

Sure, I have signs with the photo an those without.

What I really don't like about pictures: some realtors use the same picture for decades.

My first answer is no!  The sign to sell the house is what counts, not your photo. A

Gary -- I don't even a photo here, so I don't have one on my signs.  I know many who do.   Whatever works best for you and your personality -- go for it.

I don't.  But I don't have anything against it either.  One of my fellow agents in a different brokerage who is very productive and beautiful has her picture on her sign...and I understand why.  But her signs are often artistically altered with sharpies.  She has been given blackened teeth, goatees, various styles of moustaches.  She takes it in stride, but it does ruin the signs.

I know we sort of are advertising ourselves, but I prefer not to have a photo.  Would prefer the focus to be on the home for sale. 

I don't think it matters. They just want the information if they call and it doesn't matter who tells them. If it is an ugly phot it could hurt 

I prefer signs without agent pictures. My name is what I want recognized in business, and the property is what I am advertising.

I always had my pictures on all my marketing materials. Now I moved to a new company and designed everything without my head-shot.

I agree with Bill Dandridge I don't do it as my goal is to market the house and not myself. Of course potential buyers need my contact details and where they can find info on the house, (my website), but I'm failing to see how my picture will help with the sale of the house. 

I do accept that the picture might help with branding, although I wonder how often you have to change out the signs for that to work. I can't imagine outdated photos help.

I don't think a photo is necessary on the sign.  The contact name and info should suffice.

I tend to say no, I think that contact information is more important.

If your image is an asset, then plaster your face where ever you can.

However, be prepared to reap the benefit and consequences simultaneusly. There are some bad folks out there and it allows others to practice discrimination without detection.

Could help with branding especially if it's photogenic. 

I think that's a personal choice. I don't have mine on my signs. My broker provides the signs and I'm happy with that.
