Thank you all for sharing your insights.  I agree with many of you, our clients may not understand these designations.  I just wanted to get some ideas for my continuing education to better manage and run my business... Hope you all have a fantastic evening!

As for the education I recommend CRS but it is a designation. The courses are so relevant and prepare you to run your business as a business. Next I would say GRI. It has a menu of great classes and is information you will use. It is a certification.

The most important home I sell is YOURS!

Although most clients don't know what they are, the GRI and CRS designations are what I would list as more important.  Please keep in mind, you earn these designations for yourself.  What you learn in the CRS courses is very, very valuable in running your business successfully.

None of them. They make no difference to consumers.

Consumers can barely figure out the difference between an agent and a broker, and they become even more confused over REALTOR vs. agent, and the only person whose opinion matters in this world is the client. What we think about each other is not relevant.

Which is the most useful?

What you should be asking is "Which designation will be most benefical to the real estate professional in their business?"

The answer is, "The one most recognized by the buying and selling public."
That designation is BROKER!

The can of soup purchase of letters to append to an agents name demonstrate the vanity of a REALTOR more than the ability to be of service to the home buyer or seller.

Your question might be, "What arrangement of letters will leave the agent smarter in exchange for my money?" That would be GRI.

If you're relatively new, get the GRI. It teaches you everything you didn't learn in "real estate school." If you work with a lot of buyers, the ABR is useful. My best certification is the CRS, but you need some substantial experience to qualify.

I have GRI, ABR, CNE, and ePro but think the CRS has provided me with many referrals over the years.  Believe the GRI was the most helpful right out of real estate school.
