I used to use a laptop, but found people like paper--they like to see it, touch it, slip back and forth on items of interest to them. A thorough paper presentation provides a sense of solidity, I've found.

I now use a printed presentation and also bring my ipad along for additional visuals. The printed presentation I like to leave with the seller. I get good feedback that they think they are getting something.

I print out a nice color presentation for my clients. I've found they like to have something to hang onto and refer back to after I leave. But I also use my chromebook while meeting with them.

I am considering using an on-line presentation. I am getting quite a few "seller suspects" who will ask for their home's value without giving me the listing appointment. The on-line presentation will allow me to show off what I can do on-line with their listing. My on-line presentation will allow me to link to my web presence, my websites and my tours and flyers. My main "claim to fame" is my on-line marketing. I cannot do a good job of showing that off in a listing appointment.
Hopefully, the on-line presentation will give me the chance for me to get the appointment. I do not want to stick my neck out and deliver a paper proposal until I have seen their home and had a thorough discussion of their needs.

I only used the iPad once for a listing presentation.

Regardless of whether we choose to go with a print presentation or stay mostly verbal, we always set aside time to show clients what their home will look like on the Internet if they list with us. That approach works almost every time.

I have a paper presentation that I leave with the seller so they have NO DOUBT what to expect throughout the transaction, and also a net sheet.

Honestly, I try not to use either. I do the conversation eye to eye, and then offert them a listing packet to back up what I have told the seller. They can then review it after I leave.

Paper and pen. Mot of my clients would be scared off otherwise.

I BRING a lap top with a knock your socks off power point presentation GUARANTEED to convert strangers into raging advocates.
However, when the home owner is given the choice, they ALWAYS choose the 25 minute presentation that comes with the blue folder in my other hand. What appears to be a less formal (it is not) presentation, builds trust more quickly.

Frank,
All our good ways of doing it. It depends on the marketplace and the seller you are presenting to, I would have both with me to show that I am conversant with the latest and greatest.

It depends to some extent on the property and the seller, and whether I am competing or just having the conversation before listing with a referral. More and more I am using paper, with videos, photos and websites shown on my ipad. I think it's important for sellers to see how their homes will look online, etc.
2,577,471
Use both ...the ipad for photos and hard copy for the sellers to keep and perhaps write notes.
713,369
I use a printed presentation if it's a new prospect, with the iPad on hand to show any particular visuals (like staging examples). Better is when I use neither - a past client or a referral where the call is just "can you come over and list my house?" I love those!

Both...it really depends who I am dealing with. I have found that millenials prefer all the modern gadgets. To show them that I am familiar with the latest technology...I usually utilize Ipad. For sellers who are a little older, I prefer to use paper listing presentations. But it all depends on the sellers wants and needs. I always leave behind a colored hard copy to show my professionalism.

I have to agree with David Barr. Have one ready to go but I rarely go down that path anymore, I sit with people. I listen and I adress their needs. Truly this is what people are looking for

I print out a nice colored presentation that I leave with the sellers. They usually comment that they like them.
12,445
I don't...I like the good old fashened paper. However, I'm thinking of going digital.

It definitely depends on the generation I am speaking to. It is very important to pay close attention to your prospective client. So to answer your question, all 3.
If the presentation is on an electronic device, I do bring some additonal visuals that can be handed to them.

iPad. I find clients like to know that I'm up on the latest technology and will use it to help sell their homes.

Frank Rubi, MBA -- I plan to make a landing page that will be custom written with the things I want to show as examples. I will pick out some of my best virtual tours. I also plan to highlight examples of my listings and show off the lead capture features. I am abitious and trying to shift into better neighborhoods. I am a listing specialist but I feel I have to show results with Buyers, as well.
I want to use the listing appointment as a "listening appointment."

I have my laptop, tablet and ipad with me.
Rarely I need to use any of them, though!
2,217,501
Eye to eye...I want their eyes on me so I can build trust faster...I sit down and just have a conversation with occasional printed referrals to make a point...I stopped using my iPad for this when I discovered that they were transfixed on the screen and after about one hour their eyes were glazed and giving me ..we will think about it routine
I had a few listing presentations before....don't use ipad or laptop

I use a laptop with a very nice PP Presentation. Hard to beat that nice big bright crisp screen.

John, that's an interesting point you bring out. What software are you considering?

People still seem to want something left with them to go over. So I'm still using paper.

To All thanks for the pro and cons of the question on Listing Presentation. I do believe paper and the ability to leave behind is most helpful for the customer.
THANK YOU
2,224,473
I take my laptop. I need to get a new tablet and that purchase will have to wait.
634,482
Usually electronic unless I know the clients are more comfortable with low tech. Then I take out the paper.
2,443,250
I usually use paper because an ipad is to small for everyone to gather around, and if the ipad is not sitting just so there is a glow on it and no one may be able to see it.
3,164,294
It totally depends on the client. I cater to the individual and can do either or both.
19,756
I have both. I decide which one to use depending on my audience. If the customer seems more old school, I will use the listing binder I have ...if they're younger changes are they are into technology so I will use the Ipad.
2,161,048
My listing presentation has evolved into a conversation with the seller about their plans giving g them an opportunity to ask any questions they may have. I do bring a printed CMA and some other information.
474,492
I use paper, and I always leave it with the prospective clients so that they have it to ponder over if they do not sign with me at the presentation. I welcome the sellers to speak with other agents, and I think my presentation will shine relative to the others.

Chief cook always uses a laptop presentation followed with a paper presentation at the end.
969,888
Cindy, I like your style. Keep it simple and most people like that. It a lot for the consumer to understand. We do this everyday. Sometimes I think we go to fast.
969,888
Vern, I feel that way when I just trying to show the client pictures of the listings.
969,888

I'm still with the paper and Grey folder. This is because the way I have done it for years.
