Both of my grandfathers were Real Estate agents back in the 80's. One owned his own company, and the other worked for Century 21. They were both very well known. My grandfather passed away back in 2002, and my mother re-opened his company in his honor. She is now the Broker/Owner and that's when I decided to get my license :) It's been great.

I am a 3rd Generation real estate agent & Realtor, mom was an agent and grandmother was a agent/broker.  I often times joke with clients that just means "I should know better!".  My wife is a real estate attorney, I continue the joke with "I have my own in house counsel, literally in our house."  Good question.

Yes, I am a 3rd Generation Realtor.  My grandfather was a "Buyer's Agent" (before they used the term) for an investor/flipper in the Late 70s & early 80s.  My mother became a Broker in the early 80s & started her own company to handle the buy/sells for my dad (an investor).  She didn't plan to handle other transactions, but buyer leads & seller leads just came (people like her).  My brother & I both became licensed after college.  Currently I'm the only one an Active Full-time agent, but my parents still have their company & licenses active (just in case).

My Dad held a license for many years.  In my third career, I renewed my license to work with my son-in-law and we also had my sister join us.  The Team also has support staff of my wife and youngest daughter.  So yeah, i think it runs in the family.  Brother-in-laws are RE investors and one was a Maufactured home dealer for 36 years and did land home packages in Colorado and Utah.

My daughter started as my assistant when she graduated from college. She then became a buyer's agent on my team. When things slowed down, the team disolved. 3 years ago I started my own firm, she hung her license with me, became a broker and now it is her company! I always said I would be working for her someday.

Yes. My 31 year old son just joined my team and it is working out great. My son has an excellent background for this career..great communication and customer service skils, eager to learn every day, good marketing and sales know how and does not mind working 7 days a week. We set up guidelines and expectations  so we would not slip back into a mother-son relationship during business.

Although I'm no longer an agent...

My son followed me into the business for a while but it really wasn't for him. He's still "in the business," however. When he has time he does marketing for his wife and helps out with signs, etc.

Yes, my mother was a Realtor for about 25 years and was on the Board and all that so when I decided to retire from my "first life" after 38 years of Speech Therapy and Special Education, I began at Keller Williams  the following week.  I think it's in my blood!  Don't you agree?

According to my father, my mother had her license.  I didn't know this, and God rest her soul, she's no longer here for me to ask. However, if that is the case, I would be second generation.  My son is interested in real estate but I don't know if he'll take the plunge.

My grandfather was a real estate agent in Texas all my life. He owned rental properties and I grew up helping him clean and freshen up properties when people moved out. My mother was also an agent in Tennessee and Texas and my husband was an agent and in property management in Oregon. Funny how it does seem to run in families.

My sister and I are both agents. Our father has been licensed since 92. I think he asked my sister to join him so he would have someone to get him lunch ;) I followed in the lst year and we all work on the same team. My dad is a wealth of knowledge and has had so many experiences in regards to real estate, nothing is suprising to him...plus he loves having his girls in the same business that he is in!
