No, I don't. In fact, I turn my ringer off so that I'm not distracted. I have someone else answer my office phone.

I asked the same question a couple of days back. My answer is it depends.

Unless I see it's from the showing service with an appoitment update or unless I'm in negotiations, I do not. And if I'm in negotiations I alert my clients upfront that I might need to pick up the phone.

If I am with another client, and they are strolling through a house, and they hear my phone ring....and I ignore it....what will they think when they call me and it goes to voice mail?
If I am with another client and we are engaged in evaluation or strategy and I say, 'Sorry, I need to get this," what will that communicate to the client at this most significant stage of a purchase or sale? How important are they....REALLY?
To answer or let it roll, requires selective judgment and you need to choose wisely.

Like Russ Ravary ~ Metro Detroit Realtor call (248) 310-6239, usually not but sometimes at a showing. There's time between appointments to answer emaill and voice mail.

Generally I don't, but it just depends on whether I recognize the number, and what the circumstances are. Negotiations and offers are a must. Family is maybe. All else is a no. Some personal issues must be dealt with immediately and clients are always courteous when those situations arise.

I always tell people I work with that if I don't answer my phone that means I am on another appointment. I give my full attention to the clients I am with. Everyone respects that.

typically - No... There is voicemail for a reason... But depending on who it is I may

No. No. No. No. and NO. To do so would be rude, unprofessional and disrespectful to those I am with.

Dependent on the client, the relationship, the activity I may be balancing at the moment and whether my phone is on or not.

Like all other aspects of client relations, expectation setting is key. I typically don't answer when with clients. If I am expecting an important call, I let them know up front that I am expecting that call and ask if they wouldn't mind my taking it when it comes in. I've never had anyone say no. It helps that I let them know they are important to me and that I normally wouldn't answer. It also let's them know that when their important moments come, I will be there to take care of them.

Never - ask seasoned agents about the time when there were no cell phones. Did it hurt their business? A lead on the phone is not worth one in the home!

Normally no, unless we are waiting to hear back on an offer/counter, etc. I strive to answer my phone anytime I am available and not with clients.

ONLY if I make my clients aware ahead of time that I may get an important call, otherwise I don't.

Camara generally not. I like the break from the phone. I will call back as soon as I'm free.

I agree that it depends on the situation. If the phone rings while I'm driving, no. I don't want to be distracted while driving clients in my car, aside from the liability in doing so.
If I'm showing property and we are inside/outside the home, yes. My clients know my phone is my lifeline. And they get to see how prompt I am in communicating with others.
If I'm at a listing appointment, no. The phone stays in the car.

When customers are in front of me the phone is kept silent Camara Company.

If it is my wife yes. If I am expecting a very important call yes. Otherwise no I focus totally on the clients I'm with.
