....Experience Isn't Expensive.... It's Priceless!

I store nothing in the cloud...I don't believe it is secure or kept from prying eyes (LOL)

I still keep my own data.  There's lightning on them there clouds. I haven't gotten up the nerve to do that yet.

There is consumer-grade and business-grade cloud storage.  Do not use consumer-grade cloud storage for confidential files. You are exposing your business to liability for security negligence if client data is compromised due to a security breach.

Data must be encrypted on your device before it is sent to the cloud (pre-Internet encryption). It must be stored in encrypted format in the cloud, and the cloud storage provider must not have the encryption key, so they cannot access the data.

I use SpiderOak (referral link with bonus storage) encrypted cloud storage which provides Trust No One (TNO) cloud storage with automatic backup and sync to multiple devices.  Do your due diligence before choosing a cloud storage provider.  Follow a Written Information Security Policy (WISP) that shows you take data security seriously.

I store my files locally, in encrypted form, on a solid state drive (SSD) which is much more reliable than a hard disk.  I do automatic nightly local backup to 2 USB flash drives, and automatic weekly backup to a microSD memory card.

Once a month, I store a backup copy in a fireproof safe.  If your site is destroyed by fire, flood, tornado, explosion, you need to have an off-site backup copy.  Businesses that are victims of data theft or data loss usually do not survive.

Jesse Castro - I love your answer to this question.  100% of it.  The American citizen just can't count on total privacy anymore...  :-(   Couldn't agree with you more. Jesse Castro, Can you please write a post for us on back-up options, besides the cloud?  I've got a Mac.  Right now I just use a "Rocstor" hard-drive back-up drive for everything I do, but I'd be so curious to read your specific imput on this.  Looking forward to ideas from an IT Pro!!  Thanks a million!!

I maintain client files on Evernote. But I also have them on my hard-drive and on disc after transactions are completed.

I have some cloud storage, but I prefer to do redundant backups of valuable data, like client files, property photos and videos.  The data that is most time-consuming and expensive to generate in the first place gets backed up to multiple storage.

Old school here I guess.  Just don't like my things being off in an intangible place even though I have never had trouble accessing or loosing any.  I have a few thumb drives.  Mark

I store of all my data in the cloud. It makes getting to it a breeze and way more productive. I don't know what I ever did before the cloud, but I know I didn't do it as fast!!

I only store data in the cloud that I am prevented from keeping secure at home.

I don't care to see images I thought was secure cloud storage on gdrive showing up in G searches.

My CRM for instance is cloud based and leaves me no option.

Collaborative projects will use whatever is most suitable OS for those participating.

Task management will be real estate CRM or ghost writing Trello or software development Podio.
