The thing we like most about any inspector is that they are not alarmists...and don't make major issues of things that are not...AND do not quote prices for fixes but refer/defer to specialists.

I recently had to branch out and use a couple of new ones, I like it when they do a final walk around, showing the client each item of concern. I also appreicate when they show the client where the HVAC filter is, gas shut off, electric panel, water shut off at the street, and house, etc.

I love it when the inspector ask the buyers if they would like to be present during the inspection. Puts the buyers at ease and helps them understand they have choices. Of course, quality of report and accuracy are vital. 💁

Great question - I like his calm manner and professional delivery. I had one inspector who always cracked jokes. One - I had heard them all many many times since they were the same jokes - just a new buyer every time. Two - I think his inspections would have been much quicker if he had just stuck to the work at hand.
Inspectors have a hard job - to do a good fair inspection but not to panic the buyer

I hire little skinny inspectors to check out homes that big guys normally do not fit. E.G. crawl space, attic.
The heavy giants can cause damage in the attic.
