It's an amazing city with all types of options depending on what you like to do. I would suggest getting on a tour bus. You can get on and off to see the major sites. Walk over the Brooklyn Bridge. Take the Staten Island Ferry for the Liberty view. Wear seriouly comfortable shoes because you will walk miles.
