Looks like this one opened a can of worms. I personally feel that if you send me a lead, it's good and I close on that lead you should get paid. I don't believe in paying for leads to nowhere. Trulia, Zillow, and Realtor.com all charge us for the information we provide to the MLS. I'd rather pay a fellow Realtor for a lead than a corporation that is charging us for the information we already provide.

I live in a nondisclosure state. It's difficult for the bigname entities to gather information without it coming from an agent. Since our MLS doesn't provide information it's up to the brokerages to make that decision and some agents choose their brokerage on that basis.

Well Douglas looks like you have struck a nerve. No I would not do that

No, I do not think so. I would rather our Board of REALTOR(r) Assocciations across the country would discontinue this practice. It is undermining our industry.

Stay true to your companies business model and you will do the right thing for your business. Always be truthful in your work and the rest takes care of itself.

Douglas Trudeau not done that - however I do not see anything wrong in doing so. Eventually, it's your publicity on the sites that public trust - so why not?

Do you think you have a choice?
Are you overt in action regarding directing consumers away from Trulia and Zillow.
Have you actually made effort to protect your seller by NOT snydicating the listing?
If you have done none of those, you are asleep at the wheel.
It is clear you are unawre of how very little your particiapation, my partipation ot the participation of others matter, some stat about you is going to be published with or without your cooperation or consent. You will be zestimated.
When the consumer has only one venue for real estate informaion, which is zillow group. you are....well I think you know. You are trying to close the barn door after the horses have escaped.
You need to be creating lists of agents you see on Trulia, AR, and Zillow. You WILL need that list shortly.

Before Trulia changed their business model to charge agents for the leads from their own listing, it was beneficial to be active om Trulia, then they got greedy, stopped working to eliminate spam and let the scammers take over their rental sections. The public has lost faith in that web site along with most agents. I hoped a merger would elminiate the problems, but the spam and scams remain.

NO..;.Trulia like most sites draw our clients away form us using our info and sell those leads back to us or others who geel the need to pay for leads. It is a no win.

I'm with Ron and Alexandra Seigel on this one. Do what's right for your business and forget the rest.
