Finding middle ground when spouses want different things in a home.  Someone has to give in. 

Jeff Dowler CRS I worked with buyers who had to have an in-ground pool in an area where this was very challenging. I did find them one.

I have had buyers who do not like the location of heater in ceneter of the basement but the builders could not do anything about it.

Having an observatory built into the design. The plans were fantastic but the Homeowners Association denied the application. Eventually it was built but not in the neighborhood they desired most.

When I was selling in a New Home community.  I have an aeronautical engineer as a buyer.  He would call me at all hours.  He called me a 1 am and I hung up on him.  He wanted to redesign his home constantly.  Well the buyer started to call the builder at all hours.  So the builder gave me a check for the buyers earnest money and terminate the contract.  The buyer cryed in my office as I handed him the check and asked him to sign the termination.

It is most challenging when usually the husband and wife differ in what they want, often the opposite of each others dream list.

The garage being big enough to accommodate his boat.  For the other part no we didn't  he had to cut out a wall to get it to work...  This client always had his tape measure with him.  It was interesting in finding the home that finally worked for him.
