I didn't want to go back to the corporate world when we moved back to the USA from overseas; I wanted to do something a bit more entrpreneurial; and I had been the "victim" of so many bad real estate agents I just knew I could run rings around 99% of them!

I had just gotten a $10 raise per month and been asked to do more work for no more pay. My realtor told me I could easily make $100,000 a year selling real estate. I felt like it was a no brainer, because it would have taken several years to make that in my current position. After all, real estate is just a part time business right??? I didn't realize 24/7 in order to do it. I wouldn't change a thing though, best decision I ever made.

My husband and I ran a small business where we came into contact with many real estate agents, and from observing them, I just always 'knew' I could sell real estate...not only that, I somehow 'knew' that one day, I would.
Several years later, when we got divorced, I took a little time off and really thought about what I wanted to do next.
The answer was simple: "Go sell real estate!"
I moved to the Outer Banks of NC, got my license and never looked back. Fourteen years later, I can still say that this is the best job I've ever had, and I enjoy my clients immensely...
So everything really does have a way of working out in the end.
And I get to live at the beach!
(How cool is that?)

I was looking for a part time job when my daughter started school. It didn't stay part-time long.

I was working 9-5, started chatting with a co-worker about the ridiculous courses you have to take that have absolutely nothing to do with your major (or so I thought). I was majoring in accounting and was required to take Principles of Real Estate. I told her I did well in the class (Final grade-B) and was encouraged by the instructor to take Real Estate Finance as well. I did even better (Final grade-A) in that course. She asked if I was interested and I told her no. She told me her best friend was an agent and her best friend's husband was a broker, in case I was ever interested. Out of curiousity I met with the broker and his wife, we connected instantly. I completed a few more courses and took the exam. No regrets!
