I would select the high-rise. We lived on the 9th floor of an oceanfront building for many years and the quality of life was hard to beat.

As a native NY City girl, I'd always vote for the high rise in the middle of all the action. I'm not big on one-story homes or large lots.

John - If money was not an option, I would have both, ha, ha. That is a tough decision. I guess based on where I currently live, I would like my home in the neighborhood. We still have a lot around us to keep us busy, although it is not downtown (which is about 20 minutes away).

I don't know what you consider all the action.  I would love to live in a subdivision that has a grocery store within the boundaries as well as a coffee shop, breakfast spot and bakery.

Tough decision.. depends on my modd. I think I could enjoy both, but would go with the bigger lot outside of town. You can always go into town when you need some entertainment. Not so much the other way around.
