Have you ever reported an appraiser for "sloppy" appraising...not little oversights or difference of opinion...wrong no. of beds, baths, etc ?

Sally and David, I have not, but the lender in a recent transaction thought about doing so as the lender felt it was not a competent appraisal.

Yes and it did no good. One mismeasured and counted the bedrooms wrong. He said to me he would not change it and it didn't matter. I don't know if his superiors did anything about it or not.

I've challenged appraisals based on missng baths, not counting water view, comparing wr0ng square footages... as long as the appraiser was cooperative, I didn't feel a need to report to their governng board. One occassion I wish I dd but I was too busy to deal with it and the deal closed anyway. Talk about sloppy, lazy work!
