Prospect: "an apparent probability of advancement, success, profit, etc"
Since the definition embraces both short and long term PROBABILITY, the best way to prospect is CONTINUOUSLY.
Consider EVERYTHING you do that gets noticed IS marketing. Unless you possess in invisibility cloak, understand you are ALWAYS prospecting.
The real question must be what is the best practice for cultivating a PROBABILITY into a possibility?
If you are xenophobic, you do so with your keyboard. If you posses sales craft you go where people are. A good handshake and a smile will trump a 'like' every time.
