Agents here do not put anyone in their vehicles unless they are close friends....they follow or meet at home...

I'd prefer not to have a client in my car but can do it if requested.  I'd much rather have them follow me around.

often go separate ways to allow flexibility. I often view it after the client likes it

not too many people want to be driven around town anymore.

I don't like to drive people around but it seems they like me to! I suggest caravaning or sometimes they will offer to drive.

Susan Emo I think we all are changing for good.

Our area is similar to yours - as far as this practice goes.

Yesterday. But it isn't a common thing for us. Often people want to drive their own car.

It's been quite a while. Months actually. I'm also showing property to an investor client I have. It's two counties away. This is a rural area and we do cover a broad range of territory, and I use to live in the area, so I'm comfortable there. Anyway...my clients is offering to drive. Isn't that a great twist on things? I think so. How nice of him and his wife to do that.

Most often I do put buyers in my car, but not when there is a larger family or when they have small kids.

Susan - I don't know if this is more of a personal preference of the agent, an age thing, or if its based on where one lives and works.

I wouldn't mind it either way, but all the buyers I have worked with over the years have always wanted to drive themselves.

I prefer to have the buyers in the car with me.  I can gauge their interest as we go to the next property as well as get to know them a little more.  You have to outline a schedule of what properties you're visiting to give them some guidelines so they don't all of a sudden want to ride around town all day.

I still put clients in my car whenever possible.  I find it to be a much more effective and personal way to bond and understand their needs.

I prefer the client ride with me. Much of what needs to be covered regarding location, attractions, schools and area amenities are covered in transit. Often, this time is useful in qualifying or disqualifying the home last visited.

By utilizing this normally wasted windshield time, I am able to stay on schedule and keep the buyer on task, This eliminates the 'VonTrap Goodbye' sequence you see of agent and buyer loitering on the drive way trying to take care of business while the owner circles the block waiting for that agent and the buyer to go away. This is all about managing your business and client.

As a listing agent I know I am one of the few who possesses this ability as agent after agent after agent has a river of non-sense excuses why the are not on time.

Now, if they have a toddler, then caravan is the best option with frequent down time built in for ...... all that baby/kid stuff.

I just had clients in my car yesterday. I've also caravaned with buyers. It really comes down to what the buyer is most comfortable with.
