Haaziq - I have never marketed to the parents of my son's sports teams, and he plays multiple sports. I have also never received any solicitation from other parents over the last several years either.

Like Heather said, it is probably better to network with the other parents during normal conversations.

I look at this 2 ways, with 2 different answers

- If you get to know the other parents, become friends, and you mutually discover what each other does for work, and you network that way, then it's perfectly fine

- If someone gets an info sheet for kids to arrange carpools and to make communication amongst the team possible, and they use that info to send unsolicited information about their business, then in my opinion, they're a schmuck.  One of my biggest pet peeves is a person that takes a non-business related event or group and makes it all about business.

Let me ask a question.

If you spent $5,000 monthly for a billboard on the highway exit to your community, would that violate the imaginary line?

Of course not.

Let your marketing be just that, marketing, not an effort to OVERTLY exploit the 'team' relationship.

You will discover that marketing will ENABLE others to approach you with their real estate needs.

NOTE: do not market exclusively to the team, sponsor or supporters  membership list. That would be crosssing the line.

You can sponsor a team instead. I did not do this when my son used to play but I have seen kids wear Tshirts as their team was sponsored by some businesses.

I haven't had that situation in 25 years but back then I considered it a sphere of influence and we talked real estate on the sidelines and in the bleachers at many ballgames and practices.
