Big time multi-tasker.  I enjoy doing every aspect of my job, I even place the For Sale Signs, all paperwork, everything myself.  It is a great way to learn the business.   I showed 60 properties last week, if I had assistants showing those properties, I would know less about the great Tucson housing market :)

I know many agents get consumed with business prospects and I can appreciate the utilization of a trusted assistant.  However, I have discovered that for me personally, I would much rather do tasks myself than to pay someone to do them for me.  I've been disappointed in the past with the lack of work ethic and integrity in delivering a product I feel proud to put my name upon.  I pride myself on a job well done always. With no assistant, I can accept the credit, or be accountable for the blame (if any).  So to answer your question -- I am a multi-tasker.

Sanity requires an assistant.  I can multi task like crazy...much easier to focus on one thing at a time and much more accurate. A

I do not have a personal assistant. I try not to multi-task--it is less efficient than dealing with one item at a time.

But Barbara Todaro, now you are the assistant (or perform the duties of an assistant). I think the other question, Paul, is does an assistant help your business produce more than you could produce by yourself? And I think the answer is no, not if you have to go behind the assistant and correct all of their mistakes. So then the next question is how do you find a trustworthy and competent assistant who is worth the compensation you pay them?

No, No, No, not me. I can only do one thing at a time and only if there are no distractions...I have an assistant, in another room, far, far away, upstairs.

Paul - I am a one man show, but would never consider myself a genius.

I'm not a multi tasking genius, but I do make lists of things I need to get done and I'm constantly adding to it as the day goes by. That helps me keep track of what I need to do and what I've done.

Good morning Paul. Multi-tasking is a lie. It cannot be done. I do not hire multi-taskers.

I'm currently multitasking since I'm not that busy. I work with a team, so it is often helps. Otherwise, I bring additional help for a specific tasks.

I am currently reading "The One Thing", while doing a dozen other things, as Gary Keller says, I probably am not as good at multitasking as i thought i was.

I am a pretty good multi tasker but still can't do it all myself and need a part time assistant.

Decades we were led to believe that multi-tasking was the way forward.  We now know this is not true and we are to do one thing, do it well, and move to the next thing.

I've read that multitasking actually lowers ones IQ. That must be why I seem to get dumber over time? Dunno, I need to get back to whatever I was working on before the ActiveRain email came in.

The appearance of my desk does not lie...I am a multi tasker.  Luckily we are a family run business so we "assist" each other.
