Selling price reported different than what was paid by the buyer

hi everyone,

I paid 815K for a house with 6K in escrow credit. The agent is a dual agent for both the seller and the buyer. Now when the house has been reported as sold, it shows as 823K.

I spoke with the Agent on this discrepancy. He says this is okay and the difference is what he is paying from his pocket to the seller.

I looked up HUD1 statement and there is nowhere the mention of 823K. Is this normal or something going here, appreciate your response.

No and you should report it to both his broker and the local real estate board in my opinion. Falsifying information is wrong and it sounds like that's what the agent did.

I don't understand either. Sounds like the agent wants to inflate his numbers for marketing purposes or he just doesn't get the way things really work.

the recorded price is what should be quoted.... not adjusted prices that reflect credits and/or inflated figures..... I don't understand that....

If he "paid" the seller out of his pocket and it was not reported on the HUD, that's reason alone to call his broker. Something fishy going on here.
