I'd accept it. My wife is a geriatric psych nurse and has received many gifts from past patients. One patient actually gave me a gift 12 golf balls he collected and put in an egg carton to give to me . I accepted but lost all the balls playing poorly .

I'd take it after making sure that's what they really want to do after informing them on the value.

I've had that happen many times.... I never accept anything....what I say is when we do our job, we get paid at closing with a commission that's paid by the seller....and I can't accept anything beyond that.... I don't like accepting anything from clients....

It depends on the value. If it is a small item I am alright with that. If it has great value and I could use it and want it I would prefer to buy it. A discounted or really good price would be acceptable.

I've not had this happen as yet, but if a seller I'd gotten close to during the transaction offered me something nice as a memento I would take it and graciously thank them.

An interesting question and will look forward to the answers. As of yet I have only received a lunch one time.

Martin Kalisker I've never had this happen to me. I'll wait to see what others have to say.
