Like our posts, we can make our questions for ActiveRain members only.  Still, it's not a hard club to join, so if you think you are about to ask a question that might offend someone participating in one of your transaction, I'd probably not post it - unless I wanted to intentionally offend them.

Questions can be made public or private.  It is up to the person asking the question.

That being said, while buyers could see a public question, I serious doubt that they would actually see it as consumers are generally driven here by search results.

The reason it may be members only is that the author doesn't want it to be public and just for the membership or the author may not have public access.

In some cases you may not want the robots to index your question.

It is the writers choice.

Member only, only reaches members.  Whats so funny about an Ambassador posting to members only?  You pick the audience you wish to reach.

Depends on how who you want to see it. You have the option for display

If it's a members only question, just like a members only post, it doesn't reach the public. And some conversation on AR should not be seen by the public.
