How things have changed.

Now the only safe place to keep a password is to tape it to the wall by your desk.

And for the really, really, really motivated...buying on of those things called a rolodex. The hackers have not penetrated the 'sneaker gap' security system.

Jack, I learned a very long time ago, not to make them too long and to use similar ones for different things.  If you have that much trouble, maybe write the name down backwards on a small scratch paper and keep it under your mattress if its that worriesome for you? No sarcasm intended...I'm serious.

I always forget a password or two at least a couple of times a  month and need to be reset. I am just so scared of doing the computer password storage that I just use the old school password lists (spiral notebook). The issue I keep having is being required to change them ever so often... Now that is annoying. ~Marisa

Thanks for the laugh today Jack, I really like Susan Emo 's solution, and your son's response.

Wish that I could help you get into whatever is password protected but I forgot your password too.
