Randy,

The elephant in the room is QUALIFIED LEADS!  When was the last time you heard that Zillow delivered that to an agent.  Thus far, I have not heard one from any of the agents I have polled.  A

No thanks. I generate my own qualified leads perfectly fine. However, I will pay a referral fee to another broker/agent for a bona-fide client. I also refer out my relocating clients to another broker/agent.

That is a very good question Randy, and I suspect that is will happen.

Some will jump at the chance others will not.

The success of will likely depend on How Qualified the leads are.

Not a chance in hell Randy.  The agency I currently work for has the best plan I've seen.  Why would I give away money?

Good Saturday morning Randy. I was talking to an agent Yesterday who gets 60% of their leads from Tulia and Zillow. It seems to be working for him.

Randy - I would imagine it would have to do a lot with whether you have enough business or not. Those that are needing more business would probably jump at the opportunity, but those that are already tapped out would not need it.

There are other businesses that already offer this, but the big issue, like Ron and Alexandra Seigel stated, is the qualified leads. That is easier to say than do.

well... that's a tough one. assuming your %'s are close to the hypothetical. one could say that a small piece of a large pie is better than a big piece of zero. If i was just starting out and had no or few deals, then perhaps. If i was a seasoned busy agent , then no. I think the issue for Zillow is the quality of agents they would attract. their stock price notwithstanding, i see little chance that they will not attempt some form of this as redfin did. In some ways to boost stock price and another to capitalize on the eyeball share that they currently enjoy. The typical real estate formula is under attack and the outcome is fairly clear. clear as mud :)

No thank you.

I would love it for Zillow to do that, if they did in our local market then would then need signed approval from all agents to market our properties
