I'm doing it now, Paul.... I separated myself completely from listing....it was very difficult to turn my builders over to another agent and it was a process for them, too!! they would always call me and I had to remind them that Lorraine (my business partner) was another version of me....

I'll retire when I go underground or due to health reasons...

 Good Saturday morning Paul. I am working on a plan to extend my career. When you retire you die unless you replace it with something else.

I am already working on that plan right now Paul, coaching my people to success while I play the part of the wise old elder who steps up when needed.

I did defer retirement by changing my business to all referrals. All of my clients were referred to associates. 

We have a very comfortable retirement but fully understand that many real estate professionals have failed to assure financial security for retirement.

I retired at 55 and was so bored after six months; I went full time in real estate and have cut back hours to play with the Grandkids. As James Dray said health or the last alternative will be the next factor.

Paul - I'm not sure that I will want to retire. However, things may change as I age.

i would like to work until i cant move. then the plan (not yet wife approved) to bring a nurse/nanny/chauffeur from norway or Sweden , 20 yo and looks like heidi klum, to escort me from job site to job site.

i love working , i cant see myself stopping. just reducing someday. god willing and the creek don't rise :)

I do not have a plan but would like to retire some day.

I thought I'm going to be in this field temporarily, but now I like what I do. I think, it is not going to be easy to completely stop:)

My retirement plan is to just list 1-2 very high end properties (5M+) per/year. So extend career but slow down significantly. 

A quote that I heard the other day....

Working for some people during retirement is a necessity while for others it is done for fun and I hope that when I retire I have the ability to work when I want to for fun rather than the need to wirk to survive
