We recycle in our blue garbage can at home and shred to recycle at the office.   We also compost at home also.   I'm not the main shopper in my family, but I do wonder why there is so much packaging.

William,

It has become an engrained habit.  Our recycle trash is bigger than our normal trash.  We have a bring your own bag, or you can buy one for .10.  We have brought our bag to the market way before that.  I cannot say that I look at groceries with less packaging...A

We recycle paper, card board, plastic bottles, Aluminium and steel cans and have curbside pick up for that.  Target has recycle bins for batteries and ink cartridges.  We take glass to special containers.

We are required to recycle, and pre-cycling is very important to me, although unpackaged or low package products are uncommon.

Our city provided 2 trash cans.  One for trash and one for recycling.   We always use the one for recycling for those type items.

The cities and towns in my trading area all do extensive recycling.  There are some variations in the rules for each city and town regarding what is recycled and what stream each item goes into.  As time goes by, more and more goes into recycling and less and less goes into garbage as cities and towns allow more to be recycled or put into the organic stream.

Good morning William. Connecticut is definitely big into recycling, but I don't spend much time looking at labels. I have often wondered if recycling is truly cost effective.

I've used to recycle and sort everything, but I just moved into a community that does not recycle anything. It is going to change, I promise you.

I compost, I recycle.  However I don't shop differently with less packaging being at the front of my mind. I do notice when the materials are recycled.
