There is no place safe anymore.  We just have to be aware of our surroundings and have a plan.  We have video cameras around outside the office.

First of all, I'm in Canada.  I live in a tiny town where everyone knows everyone's business.  However, we are 5 minutes away from the International Bridge to the US, we have a major highway that brings people in from Toronto and Montreal, both international destinations.

At any time on any given day there could be 1000's of strangers around us wanting to do us harm.   I don't choose to live with that fear.  I listen to my gut and take normal precautions to stay safe.

other than a crazy random person I feel very safe but two young men (which I clearly am not) were killed in the last two months in DC - one in an unrelated gun battle as he got off our subway system in a gentrified area and the other young man was stabbed by a crazy on the 4th of July on the subway - Life is random.

William,

I have always felt safe, and I have always trusted my instincts, when I did not.  We worked in good areas, and when I was showing something that I had doubts about that,  there was always someone to come along, and since we worked in commercial zones, plenty of people also.  A

Each of us work from our own homes.  When I worked at Prudential I had an issue with someone hiding on the other side of my car and came around to driver door once I was in. Luckily I hit the lock button.  He still tried to get me to roll down my window. I did not such thing.

William, I'm located in Valencia, California and work exclusively with the City of Santa Clarita and the Santa Clarita Valley.  Our community consists of Valencia, Stevenson Ranch, Saugus, Newhall, Castaic & Canyon Country.  We are an intimate valley surrounded by mountains.  There are only 3 ways in and out of our Valley.  We are one of the safest communities in Southern California, California & all of the USA for our size.  I have zero concern for safety.  I'm a 64 year old man so not your target group anyway.  My daughter is quite beautiful and licensed.  I do worry about her safety as I do for all women out there.

90% of where I go is considered safe. Other places require some type of weapon or self defense product, someone needs to keep an eye on the cars while you're inside, and I have to explain to buyers sometimes about what to say or not say. One complex has a lot of crime, drug, gang, and police activity for example. I hate it when a single females call and want me to show condo units in that neighborhood.

I honestly do feel safe but it's not really about the area. Some high-scale areas are prone to robberies, etc.

You have to listen to your gut. Ask questions before meeting up with anyone and let people know where you are.

Attacks on agents is increasing on the St Pete/Tampa area.

ALWAYS a solo agent knowingly crossing the boundaries of common sense.

Those pretty smiley faces on those yard signs are as good as a Craigslist hookup advertisement.

How worried am I? Sasquatch has adequately solved that problem, and many others, for me. Bold, big and not too sweet.

No,

Occasionally an issue with attacks comes up, folks with guns, drug dealers, neighbors, and other nuts you find in the woods.

Less frequently a critter makes us nervous, but most of these run away as soon as we all get over being startled.

But the big dangers involve environmental hazards like cliffs, rivers, swamps, and stuff that falls out of the sky.

Being safety conscious is always important.
