I had the same problem with them and I had to have my credit card company cancel the card number and reissue me a new card.  I also disputed the charges with my credit card company and was issued a refund.

Go straight to the card company and have them handle the unauthorized charges.

Have you heard of Yelp, ripoff post it so people will take note of it.

BBB is another route.  I would try to cancel my credit card.

They are relenetless...and their "system" is less than wonderful in our experience...when it comes to Top Producer...just say NO....and you will still be one !

Tina Comstock this is a surprise since Realtor.com, Move.com, TopProducer.com have been very good at this.

Call them again and send them a written request to cancel the account (which you seem to have done it - do it once again.)

Also dispute the amount charged to your credit card - they should be cooperative as long as you have something in writing.

And if it still does not work, BBB is your best and final option.

Good Luck.

Might be worth having an attorney review the contract.

Tina Comstock It sounds like you are obligated to fulfill the terms of the contract you signed up for or pay the four month termination charge.

I have read on the internet some situations where people cancel their credit card, get it replaced with a new credit card at the same financial institution and the financial institution transfers future charges to your new card to prevent a loss in service from the company running through the charges.

I agree with the people who say to dispute the charges.  Another option is to cancel the credit card they are billing to.  It may be a pain, but the charges will definitely stop!  :)

Tell them you are very active in the national Realtor community and that you will encourage every Realtor to not choose them, since they are not the only game in town.  Give them negative reviews online and file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.  And they better give you the ability to export your data!  Those should all help you, I know they've helped me with similar situations.

Tina - Wow, Top Producer sounds a lot like my cable company, and other utilities I have had to deal with. They are so difficult to communicate to, work with, and speak with anyone who actually has the authority to make a decision. I feel for you and hope you can get this issue resolved.

If I agree to a contract term I honor it.  And if I have a trial period and must cancel I make sure to get that cancellation in writing.  I learned the hard way, but I paid it as I felt I was at fault for not cancelling like I thought I had.

That is too bad they are not more interested in their customer service and reputation. I remember canceling mine a few years ago and asked for an email confirmation. I also record the name and time of the person I talk with. I ask for their email address so I can email a verification of the conversation and what was told to me. With all that evidence I can fully dispute the credit card charge if they don't follow through. They did cancel with no problem.
