I prefer professional. I'll root for colleges I've been to and ones I've attended (and any college playing USC), but that is the extent. The one college team I root for that doesn't fall in that category is Navy. Where I live (Ventura County) has two navy bases and while I was growing up, they were the #2 employer in the county. Basically, you liked Navy or you pretended to. I always make it a point to watch the Army/Navy game. Go Mids!

Professional games have more things around them though, so I prefer to root for those. The different Football nights, fantasy football, football pools (I won one last week!) and the like.
