I have many friends that survived it and also have had many that didn't. The numbers are getting better.

My Aunt is 89 years old.  She had breast cancer and had a double mastectomy when she was in her late 40s.

My good friend, Sue, is a survivor. That woman has survived more things than a lot of people could ever deal with. Yet she is a saint of a volunteer in our community. She does so much for the local no kill animal shelter. I'm proud to call her my friend. 

I like Debbie Reynolds 's answer - the numbers are getting much better. Breast cancer is something that many women (and some men) will face. Early detection is the key for most people to survive. 

I have shared this before....I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in 2004. Am in my 11th year of clean health since then.  There is no story to tell. It's incredibly difficult, but like so many before and after me, you get thought it.

 Good Friday morning Amanda. Several people in my life have been touched with cancer several times. One did not survive.

An agent that worked for me and one of my closest friends is a survivor. As is my Aunt Dot.

My aunt survied from it.
