I have never even thought of sending out a Columbus Day card, not that any of my Native American friends would care.

I don't send any E-Mails out as people tell me they hate it. And if I did I wouldnot worry so much about offending people....part of this worlds problems...

I don't send anything for Columbus day, but it has nothing to do with not offending anyone. My direct mail for this month is about Halloween.

Mike Sasse told you how we celbrate the Polynesian discovery of our islands rather than Columbus. We honor the native Hawaiians here, but I do send Thanksgiving and other major holiday greetings most years.
Happy Thanksgiving, Susan!

Offend FIRST Nations people.
Are you kidding?
In the USA is politically INCORRECT to honor old dead white men. McKinley, the most recent assassinated president to be stripped of recognition. Lincoln, Washington, Santa Claus....they are on the hit list.

Good Saturday morning Susan. Sadly, I think that our world has gotten too politically correct. I am not sure whether First Nations People is appropriate either. They were the original inhabitants of the land we now occupy. So I would call them Native Americans or Indigenous peoples.

I'm sick of all this PC stuff and it doesn't occur to me not to send something if I'm moved to do so.

Columbus Day is just another day to me. I'm a good part Native American, and a lot of European, too. I don't send out any cards or do anything differently for this day.
Happy Thanksgiving, Susan.

In Hawaii, we celebrate "Discoverer's Day" in recognition of the Polynesian discoverers of the islands. No mention of Columbus whatsoever here!
