I have thousands of books in my 3rd floor library. I decorate with heavy leather classics. I collect "antique" books, first editions.
HOWEVER, I READ Kindle versions on both Kindle, ipad/iphone. I need the instant download option and get 2-3 new books a day! My covers are leather so yes, I get the smell, the feel and the experience of a "REAL" BOOK. I can hi-light anything I need, I can "ear mark" it too.
Even my 88 year old Mother reads the e-version of her books.

Printed books all the way, as much as I love technology I still like to have a physical book.

I look at screens all day so I prefer printed books, but also use the no-backlight Kindle like Josh Brown.

Blanca Barajas We used to collect first editions - primarily crime fiction - US and UK. Once we hit over 4,000 of these we decided to exit that "side business" and now have two bookcases with our most prized collectibles. We both read "Kindle" on our iPads, and have done so for many years, originally using the first Kindle from Amazon.

Kindle for me specifically because it doesn't have backlighting, like Thomas said I look at too many screens all day as it is. I like to be mobile and constantly refer to my books over-and-over so having them always available is amazing.
I get the desire for physical books, but the convenience of digital is just too big, but I can't do backlighting.
Tip about reading on backlit screens and your sleep...the blue ambient light from screens (TVs, computers, tablets, phones) causes a reaction in your brain that causes your biology to think it is daytime and your brain will cease the creation of melatonin (sleepytime chemical). Try not to watch any screens for at least two hours prior to bed and you WILL sleep better. If you must be on a computer/tablet prior to bed try the app F.lux. It will dim and make your screen amber colored rather than blue :)

Books!!!
I look at screens too much as it is.
Love holding a good book-tablets are to awkward & heavy, love the smell of the pages, being able to highlight & write notes in them and they do not require batteries.
You retain more from a book than a screen and from more writing than typing; that's science, not opinion.

Me, too. I LOVE the smell and feel of actual books. Books on line are less expensive but not as appealing.

Nothing beats the look, feel, and smell of a printed book! But we love the ambiance of a backlit screen and that tablets read e-books aloud.

Depends on the book. Sometimes I order both, and sometimes I also get the audio version.

I'll read both, but there's nothing like holding a real book in my hands.

Depends. I prefer printed material. Easier to read, battery lasts forever (lol!) but I like to have a good amount of light when reading them. Plus, what do you do with them once they are read? Mine have gorgeous artwork (fantasy novels) so they are decorative too.
Tech manuals or books, tablet that isn't hard on the eyes.

I love, love, love the convenience of Kindle. But, it depends on the book. Fiction and biographies are fine for a tablet. I prefer most Business books in printed form.

Blanca Barajas - Let them decide what they like.
Just send them the link to your listing presentation.
And of course, make it a point that it is on your smart device when you reach there - so you can discuss. And use Ben Kinney 's presentation style: Go with few blank papers (and listing agreement, of course!)

Bianca,
I have had a long love affair with printed books. However, since our business involves traveling, we can download lots of books to read on planes. and they don't take up room in the suitcase. Before Kindle, we used to travel with lots of books in our suitcases. A

When it comes to reading a book, definitely the printed type for me. Though, I'll take the tablet for reading some magazines or surfing the net.

Books. They are like old, proven reliable friends. Any time I want I can pull from the shelf, fan the pages, and land on a passage way to somewhere else.
I can scan the margins for my encrypted notes.
Actually embrace my old friend.
For some reason, the iPad or tablet just isn't showing me the love.
Are we witnessing the creation of a 'loveless' literary society?
