from what i can tell, no one knows for sure the answer. the consensus is maybe :) . often people say 2 is ok. more than 2 is not so good and can be punished gy the google gods. i think the algorithms change often. changing some content is good i suspect, but the nature of that change is unknown. my personal belief is that duplicating long tail seo phrases is what catches the attention of the computer eye the most. but i know less than nothing :)  welcome back

The old rule of thumb is to cross link similar posts but not identical posts. 

Never put duplicate content out there, you could be penalized.   Change it up 30% or more. 

Once you climb into the blogging/posting/commenting saddle...just giddiyap!

I've heard that it is harmful. I would probably follow Elizabeth Weintraub Sacramento Real Estate Agent, Top 1% of Lyon Agents format. She links to the rest of the story on her own site. Brilliant

Best to just go with the link duplicate content seems to be a problem for Google
