I pick up the phone and schedule a time to stop by.
When I was an agent I would have my letter in hand and go to the house to see if I could catch the seller at home. If not I would leave it in their door.
In person followed by phone call followed by several direct mail.
I used a combination of phone calls and personal visits when I was a listing agent.
I have not done so recently. I usually attend thei open house.

Face to face. They cannot look you in the eye to see your sincerity by email or a flier.
I don't unless I have a buyer for their property. Then I call them.
I call and try to set up appointment. If they refuse there I try to go in person. Win them over with my devastating charm and abundance of wisdom. JK I do call first so when I stop by it shows a bit more than maybe the next. Mark
I contact fsbo's by email and text.
Mail only, since my understanding of postal regulations is that you cannot put anything in a mail box.
As far as dropping by, I would not want someone that I didn't invite at my door step, so why would I do it to someone else.
