I grew up in Wyoming with almost no traffic and now I don't even think about traffic as I drive in California or Tijuana, MX

Yes I am a safe driver and though I live in a smaller town with not a whole lot of traffic I feel like I can navigate heavy, fast traffic without a problem.

It's the freeway driving that gets me in the larger areas. It's mainly because I don't know where I'm going.

I feel totally safe in the big city traffic, but I hate the interstates!  Guess it's whatever you're used to.

Too funny William.  I am from Southern California.  I have been spoiled now many years living rural.  I remember first trip to city (San Francisco) after many years small town.  I was white knuckled.  Driving wrong way on one ways.  Thru construction zones.  I finally parked the truck and refused to drive any more till leaving.  I would have to put a big NO to your question.  Make it a safe weekend.  Mark

I hate city driving. I always feel like I've been beat when I get home from a day to Atlanta and back.  I love my quiet country roads.

I live in a rural area but close to the city. I cannot wait to get home all the time as the city is disturbing in many ways. Ah Nature and the quietude

In New York, we have rural, suburban and the City.

When I was younger, I used to be afraid of driving in the City, but once I did it, I realized it wasn't so bad.  Generally, when there's lots of traffic, people are not going over the speed limit (because they can't) and generally the speeds are slower than in suburban areas and roads straight so less likely to get into major accident, less like to get killed due to lower speed.

Rather, it's the traffic that is aggravating and slows you down and sometimes you can't make the turns you want to.  But, I generally don't feel that unsafe.

Making FLORIDA Real Estate EZ

North Branch, MN. I suspect, compared to drivers in your locale, I might be categorized as 'one of those.'

However, we who live on the West Coast of Florida, know instantly when a lost sole from the East Coast in mucking up our sylvan existence with their insistence that the blaring of the horn will make the light change faster. They race from stop sign to stop sign, light to light to arrive at the same place at the same time as the rest of us.

Loud belligerence announces their arrival. The rules don't apply to them. And when they realize those with the flashing lights won't agree, it back to belligerence for them.

Do I feel threatened, unsafe? No. But they are not allowed to dictate how I drive or behave......back to the loud and belligerent.

I was a California girl before moving to Kauai. Here we have one 2-lane highway, a single lane in each direction for almost the whole island. Max speed is 50 mph and much of it lower than that. When I fly into a mainland city and get a car at the airport I  gear up for Los Angeles style driving; fortunately I had years of experience and - like riding a bike - city-driving skills are still with me. But it IS crazy how people drive...

The worse here is if you have to be somewhere during rush hour and that will get worsr for the winter. The rest of the time I try to ignore the traffic and control my temper.
