I find today’s batteries last longer than a year so I wait to change them until they “chirp.” They are back up anyway as my detectors are hard wired.

Hate to say it, but I don't. I can see by the green light that all is well. I replace when they start beeping and telling me to do so.

No, we didn't do it either.  We are going to get batteries this week too.

No we didn't change them. We subscribe to the method of waiting for the chirp and then we change them all. We have about 10 to change. 

No, I have not in years, they are hard wired in so the battery only gets used when the power goes out. None have chirp yet so I think I am good.

I typically do, but my detectors are hard wired now and monitored by my alarm company.  I spent 11 years teaching the gospel of changing your batteries when the time changes, so it does stick with me.

I do, but not every six months as we are instructed to do so.

I changed our batteries today. I change them when we change the clocks.

 Good Monday morning Tammy. I change my smoke detector batteries the first of the year.

It is said that when you hit daylight savings time you should also swap out those batteries. A good question Tammy.
