Will, We tried it, and the bottom line is if you can't advertise your A+ rating, what good is it to me as a business person?  We mentioned it in a blog post, got contacted and told we can't do that.  Yet I hear it on the radio routinely being touted by various businesses.  We cut the payment and haven't looked back after that first year.

No, I think the BBB was a gimmick from a long gone era that the public neither watches or respects.

Absolutely not.  I have watched ratings for other businesses and disagree with many of them.  I feel that they give ratings in many cases just because they receive fees and they have negatively rated other  business that I really admire and respect.

No.  Why pay for a place where people can rank you and complain about you when Yelp, Google and several others do it for free?  BBB wanted $500 a year out here for their basic service.  No thanks.  In the world of Yelp, G reviews, Zillow, Trulia and Realtor.com they are very outdated.  Had maybe ONE realtor in my county on their site.

It's a money thing.  That is all it is and I don't buy into it.

No I am not, there is a little bit of controversial talk about them right now. If I understand it right, most people sign up and pay a small fee because they will let you link to their website which gives you credibility.  They no longer let you do that. Therefore, members are not signing up again.

At this point I am not.  I score 97% on their slide rule and can't get to 100% until I pay.   I am not paying a huge sum of money for 3%

Never have been bus as a former retail stores owner there is no enforcement and for most people it is never accessed.

Consider the Chamber of Commerse. In my little town, the return has been exceptional.

I think it offers credibility but in the end I wasn't willing to pay their fee. After 10+ years, I feel like I can live without it.
