That's an interesting approach. I might try it. Normally even with a local call it's typically someone trying to sell me something.

 Good Monday morning Paul. I get several hangup calls a day. I look at it this way, I probably didn't want to talk with them anyway. – LOL

I Google the # first. And when I do, I usually find out it's a telemarketer.

I return the call and tell them I just missed a call from their number, introduce myself and ask what I can help them with. Usually they respond.

Yes, I do the same. I call back right away. The problem, they not always answer, I still leave a VM who I am ( very short one).

When I call the number bck, it's usually a telemarketer that has tapped in to our local number system.

I rarely get hang up calls.  And I never call back a missed call number.

Most of the hang ups are telemarketers. No I do not call back and if I don't leave a message I don't expect a call back either. It amazes me that when I dial a wrong number and realize it before the person answers I almost always get a return call. I tell them who I am, that I made a misdial and we have a conversation about real estate. You never know.

I nevr thought of doing that.

Without a voice mail I have to admit I don't call back unless I recognize the number. My problem is most of my calls come from out of state so I never know if it is a spam or client call unless I already have them in the database.

I do call them back after a quick google search to make sure they are not some company.

You never know where your next client is coming from. Great question Paul, you could have written a blog on this experience, we can all learn something here.

Yes, I have returned many of these calls. Some have been productive but most have not been worth the effort.

If I believe it is a legitimate caller, I definitely return the call.

Most often my attitude is, if they want to talk they will call back!

Sometimes I do and it is generally worthwhile.

Paul - I don't get hang up calls. It's usually me hanging up on all the telemarketers calling me.

No but I don't get hang ups.

If I miss a call and there is anumber I do call it back

That is awesome! My hang up calls are usually people who thought they were calling a apartment comples. I do have the have you ever thought about buying a home instead of renting conversation and some of them do go off to get qualified.

This is not much of an issue for us, esp as my voicemail provides an alternative number to call and/or text.
