The outcome of one-on-one coaching is directly related to the effort the student puts into it.
Too often, folks enter into coaching environments with no intention to change but with the hope of continuing their current activity but wishing a different outcome.
If the coaching programs did not work, they would be out of business. The truth is they work, but they don't work for everyone. And now we know why.

I would make sure that whoever you use that they fit what is ailing you. Sometimes that is as simple as systems, and sometimes it is motivational. What I might suggest before you hire a coach is to make sure you have the business to afford one. The second recommendation and a more important one is training. Many courses like with CRS will help you in specifics be it marketing, time management, tech, systems, investing, listings, lead generation or working with new home construction. There is a lot of free out there also like with Chris Smith and Jimmy Mackin of Curaytor. You might want to look for them and others on youtube.com and watch previous broadcasts. Finally make sure that who you choose it a mentor and not a guru that can understand who you are and what your strengths are. I would also go to Tony Robbins web site and for free take the DISC profile to learn more about yourself.

Nattalie Cornwall I went to a Mike Ferry seminar once sponsored by the company I was working at. It sounded pretty good until he had 10 people stand up in the back of the room and brag about how much money they were on track to make that year by using his techniques. I don't think any of them were making any money, they were just on track for it. This turned me off.
I personally think your best bet is to find a mentor who will hold you accountable for attaining your goals.

Different pesonalites will be attracted to different coaches. just have to ccompare Ferry, Wickman, Buffini, Byreferralonly, etc and choose the one you feel best about. They might be worth the investment for some people, but not for others. Cost is big factor especially for new agents.

Well, Mike or Tom Ferry are no charlatans & I have used them over the years. I think it is worthwhile & did not have any problems with the program. I did have a problem with my coaching 'partner' & they just gave me someone else. Found it hard to be with someone who lied their entire way thru a coaching call & did no work. Why pay for a coach if you're not going to do the work?
I felt accountable all the time either from my coach or the monthly fee I'm not sure which lol.
I think every newbie should get a coach when they get into the business. It's important that you like the coach's personality style. Some people think Mike Ferry is too blunt, I love him.

Nattalie, I'm kinda of in the same situation. Here's a suggestion that may be of some help to you. Go to this site and pull up the state you do business in. See who the top producers are in your city or state. Call them up and ask them if they would be willing to help coach or mentor you in your business. I'd be willing to bet that almost everyone of them can either help you out personally, or at the very least guide you in the right direction to a mentor or coach they've used, or are currently using.
There are many charlatans out there who claim to be coaches and mentors and are only to glad to take your money. Many have only sold a handful of homes over their entire careers, but yet they're now self described experts in the real estate business. I would advise you to stay away from those types of people, thus the reason why I recommend you contact only those that are currently in the business, and are highly regarded and respected by their peers.

Lots of one on one coaching programs out there. How successful they are depends on you--what you want from them and which company will best provide the support you need. They might not be worth an ongoing investment forever, but from time to time yes to help reboot a business or get it going. A lot also depends on your personality and whether it helps you to pay to be accountable.

I haven't used one-on-one coaching. I've been a Life Coach and can tell you it works only if the client makes the effort and performs.

Nattalie,
When I mentor agents my first question is, out of all the activities an agent can do, which are you willing to do well on a consistent basis? Out of the activities you are willing to do, which will be most effective in your particular situation, in your market.

I prefer to be myself instead of someone else vision of a Realtor, so I won't follow the pack.
If you want to be an expert, then act like an expert and create and write your "story", that will resonate with your clients, or prospective clients more.
Remember, sometime in the children's game "Follow the Leader", you will find the leader just taking you over the cliff. You deserve more, if you are willing to work for it!

My broker used to be with Mike Ferry. He was one of Mike's first personal coaching clients and later became one of Mike's team of coaches. He had good results with him, but they are like any other coaching system... you get out what you put in to it. Don't spend the money unless you are going to do what they say.

Each one has a way of getting the point across of what one should be doing and even a refresher now and then is good.
If you have trouble keeping yourself accountible find a coach or you broker to help you.

I have done group sessions sponsored by my former brokers. There is always a nugget of "wisdom" you could get, but many of these are distasteful to me in their approach.

No but many people do use one-on-one coaching programs. They are worth it if you get out of it what you want to get out of it and you apply the knowledge. I am sure there are many reviews on the internet about various coaching programs.

I've never used one, though my friends who have swear by them. The key thing is to actually utilize what they teach you to do.
