Like Michael Setunsky I too have had Sellers listed with another Brokerage call me and practically beg me to bring people to see their home.  And sadly, it is happening more and more.   I suppose they've already asked their agent to do so and they chose not to!

Actually, I haven't. I have had some ask me to call other agents they interviewed to let them know they selected me.

No I have never had a seller with that much chutzpah.

One time I did have a seller ask me to contact an agent who told them she had a pre-approved buyer wanting to see their house and make an offer. They did not want to have her acting in an Intermediary status and wanted me to represent their interests. I took the listing, called her and she understood, brought her buyers, made the offer and it closed. She understood the seller's position. She knew it was the right house for her buyer and was relieved to have me on the listing side. It worked out beautifully.

No. I suspect those agents that didn't get the listings used the " I already have pre-approved buyers......" sales pitch.

No I can't say that they have. Most are too embarassed to even bring up or talk much about the other agents they spoike with.

I have not had this happen, and this is a pretty crazy thing to have a seller ask of their agent. Did this just happen to you?

Sally and David - I have not had a seller ask me to do that. However, if they did, I would let them know that if those agents really had buyers, they will bring them by and show the home.

I haven't had that, but I had clients who had long term friendships with a few realtors.  The wife wrote notes to the various realtors with whom they had friendships and explained that they chose someone else (me) to list and sell their home.

One called them and asked if they'd signed anything yet, another ignored them when they saw them at church and another tried to get a referral fee from me.

In this case, the sellers were normal, but the agents were weird.

Hmm -- I don't think so.   It would certainly be interesting if the "other agent" told the potential seller they had a ready, willing and qualified buyer for their home.

We had a seller client ask us to give some compensation to the agent she fired...
