I really like your response, but I wouldn't have bothered with the reporting part.

The board and licensing authority probably have bigger fish to fry and the teeth in real estate law are so soft, nothing would happen if they did care.

The connection between how your removal request was ignored by the recruiter and the assumption that your requests would be similarly ignored by the broker is the big attention getter.

It should turn someone's lightbulb on, but probably won't.

What do I think?

You have already OVER INVESTED in this activity.

Will you continue to throw more time into the hole to add to your time already wasted?

You have SOOOOO many absolute options to address this that clearly the issue has become an issue of pride.

Pride leads folks into faulty thinking.

You have got to give it to the brokerage that they are persistent. Isn't that the motto we are all to abide by...be persistent till one says YES?

I am sure those emails are automated...write him/her a nice email to be removed from their mailing list. I am sure they will comply.

Its your call but I would have just deleted and blocked. If the broker wants to waste time sending me e-mails it's his/her time thats being foolishly spent. I won't take my time composing a response.

David Barr it's just an email.  We all send them out and are asked to remove people.  We try to keep up but sometimes they are saved in formats we aren't aware exist.  Opt out and send to spam if you like but don't insult, in my humble opinion.

I envy you that you have the time in your schedule to get agitated over this, write the snarky email and then Post it on AR. What kind of validation are you seeking? It is 8:20 and I am sitting in on a meeting between my clients and the new home representative as they are writing an offer on new construction and then I have an hour drive home.

The board likely has no jurisdiction and it's not a violation of any licensing.  There are no laws that go after the individual spamming on a small scale.  Your best bet is to setup a filter to block his email.

I see they change email addresses.  Setup your filter to look for keywords in the body of the email.  Also look into a "learning" filter like the baysian spam filters.  Google uses these as does the Thunderbird email client.  You can train it to recognize the "join my office" spam.

I think that the board and your state licensing authority would not handle such reporting by you since CAN-SPAM is not likely under their jurisdiction.  You would need to report or do whatever actions that CAN-SPAM states.
