You already have some good suggestions, but another I began using recently is Pablo by Buffer. You can choose quotes, create your own, edit, use one of their existing 30 pics, upload your own pics, overlay text or use no text, etc. Here is a sample below, and here is a list of 14 sites you can check out. http://www.entrepreneur.com/article/238646

Kathryn Jones well, the answers to your questions have so many links, I'll start using them soon.
I stopped by here to let you know about FreeDigitalPhotos.Net and I see many more here.
Great question.

I use 123rf.com and buy my pics. they aren't that expensive.
i'm NOT a good photographer, so using my own is out of the question. I prefer to just pay the $150/year for a clean searchable platform to find great pics for my website, blogs, etc. I find the free sites & google images too time consuming to search through.
plus married to an artist so I avoid questions from my other half about where i got something and whether the artist got paid

I am a big fan of big stock photos they offer a 7 day free trial of 5 pictures a day so that will get you 35 pictures to use. After that it's $35/month for 5 pictures a day, well worth it if you do a lot of work online and it gives you legal right to use them.

Kathryn,
We use dreamstime.com. It is not free, but it is reasonable. We also use our own photos. Do not get caught in the FREE system, sooner or later an attorney will be sending you a letter...It is not worth it. A

A lot images are generic cartoon not specific to anyone. You should ask permission to post anything. I think it needs to be less 100 years old.

Kathryn - Pictures are important to improving your readers interest, and helps to get them to read your posts. Looks like you have received a lot of options for finding pictures, but like others have said, your own would be best.

Looks like you have some great answers, Kathryn. But when in doubt snap one of your own, so it is never a questin of ownership..

Good morning Catherine. I use my own. There are some sites that have pictures you can use typically for small fee.

I bought a set of blog art way back when at the Apple Store, and I'm still using it. You have to be really, really careful about anything you find on line. It can be "free" except for commercial use. We are commercial use.

Use your own photos and you will have no worries. I also subscribe to Clipart.com for an annual fee and can use thousands of photos and clip art.

I would really try to shoot your own photos in your community and use those.

When using images from the internet you have to know that they are safe to use and safe to use commerically that is my concern.

Do a google images search and filter to free for use. That's how I got mine. Other alternative is to take your own pictures.

My suggestion is to use your own photographs. Take regular photowalks through your community and you will have a supply of photographs for blog topics.
