I would not hire an agent who did not have a resume....and every listing agent should include a resume in their pre-listing presentation.... I assume buyers would appreciate one, if they are signing an agreement with the buyer's agent....

I tell my real estate student to do a resume' and also tell them the types of things to put on it that a broker will be interested in.

No, I don't believe in resumes, you can find out a lot more about a person if you interview them properly.

I am not understanding what a recruiter for a post of real estate agent means. Do you mean another brokerage is trying to get you to switch companies? Then my answer would be no.  They can look at MLS statistics and see your resume.

Praful,
I have worked as a recruiter and as a hiring manager for decades. The purpose of the resume is to see how I can help the person I’m interviewing to succeed. It is to both parties advantage to have one for review and discussion.

I think most Realtors are actually interviewing the potential broker.  It is completely reverse from the normal hiring process IMHO.  So no to the resume.  Just a list of good questions.

No resume needed as it's not a traditional employee/employer relationship. Now I could see it being required for a designated broker (for a company owned agency), office manager,  or trainer etc. in addition to perhaps the rare coveted brokerage that would be highly selective of agents.

I would have no problem providing one myself, but do you really think if one indicates verbally they are a producer while displaying good interpersonal skills they would not be accepted?

Remember, if an agent is worth his/her salt they are interviewing the brokers, NOT the other way around.

I agree with Ryan. An astute agent should always have a  resume/CV when interviewing for a job, whether it is with a potential client, or with a broker.

YES!!  Anyone applying for any job should have a resume/CV.  It should at the very least list when they got in the business, the agencies they've worked at, average annual buyer and seller transactions at those agencies and of course their license number!

Recruting agent who has been active and NOT actively looking to change.

The recruiter should NOT expect or request a resume UNLESS seeking to fill a highpaying managerial position within the franchise.

Recruiting agents outside the door of the Real Estate School.

The recruiter should expect and ask for a resume. With a 90% second year failure rate of newbies...what's the point? But these newbies don't know any better. It THAT what so many request as Raising the Bar?

I have never done such recruiting.  I think that whether a resume would be required would depend upon the reason for hiring the agent.
