A seller doesn't have to accept any offer they don't agree with, but I'd personally fire a seller who wouldn't take a market price offer on a VA loan. I support our veterans and all of should. They just have to build costs into their accepted price.

I would need to ask the loan officer for the best advice on this question.

Good morning Teresa. They would be required to sign if they want the borrower to have the loan approved. Why would a seller be required to pay a underwriting fee?

Great question.  I do not know.  I would ask title/escrow officer and go back to the lender to ask . I suspect it will be a problem.

I am with Roy Kelley on this one.  I always check with my lender.

And, I like Tammy Lankford's response ... why would any seller not want to support a veteran in purchasing their home?

If I understand your question this is coming to the seller from the buyer and not already agreed through the original purchase contract. If that's the case then no, the seller is not required to agree to it. And that will likely mean the financing is refused unless the buyer finds a work-around that's accepted by the VA.

The seller doesn't have to sign anything they don't like.  They can counter or reject the offer.
