Having once been a major in the college of finance and real estate at Colorado State University (which by the way has one hell of a real estate program), I have to tell you that there is a bit of a disjoint between this professor and her students. What they are learning is not real estate practice, but real estate principles and law. It's sort of our real estate licensing courses on steroids.
Sure, many of us apply fair housing laws in our every day lives and we know (or should know) about easements by prescription and adverse possession, Septic tanks, wells, or what ever, I am not sure many of us can stand up to the "test" of being able to answer a college student's inquiries about riparian rights or physiologically impacted properties. No, those questions are best answered by a real estate attorney.

Probably. But I also noticed that many of the questions are not things covered in "real estate school."

Points for the teacher; well at least there is a purpose.
Though some of these questions get a little repetative and irritating at times I still feel bad for them when I see some of the snarky and rude replys that some of our good regulars give them out of frustration.

Somebody asks a question on a question & answer forum and there is a nefarious motive behind it? What would an instructor gain by having a lot of points?
I am on another re forum and get some of the same student questions even though there is not aquestion & answer section.
Kudos to the students who ask questions, it is the best way to learn.

Points don't have any value except to reduce the monthly fee. It also can help AR because some of the students may enjoy AR and want to pay a monthly fee to derive all of the benefits after they become licensed.

Good morning Shanna. Too much of a conspiracy theory, if someone is that greedy about the points, more power to them.

Some of their questions aren't basic. I've seen some that rarely get answered because many of the realtors here have no knowledge of that specific niche of the real estate industry. The water rights questions are a good example.

Does it matter? And if so the students are maybe unknowingly being taught another critical RE lesson. Don't take everything at face value. Mark

Most often the class teaches you how to pass the test. You will learn the law, rules and such, but listing and selling homes can not be taught from a book, it takes hands on training. I like that they are asking questions but as i wrote, they should add their pictures, write who they are and do mor ethan just ask questions, write a blog, read our blogs and leave comments

The teacher gains points that are worth...nothing to the teacher.
The teacher directs the student to a community alleged to be the most knowledge and welcoming professional site on the planet.
The teacher, from the front of the class says, "Attention please. I want to advise all of you your checks have cleared and you ok with us. We profited FIRST, but there are more to come. However, you should be aware there is a whole bunch you don't know you don't know. Go to AR and ask a few question that may be related to this course. You should ask more questions about how to get started and what to avoid. By the way, you get 'extra credit' for presenting material not found in the manual."
We all know the reality. Accept the challenge to save those who can be saved and get the rest started on the right foot. Stop the nonsense of 'git more train'n." That concept has proven to be bankrupt.
Of course when they present their "agents are crooks' reaction to their homework assignment, be ready to set them straight, if you really know how.
In closing, I advise being aware that what you offer may become curriculum content for additional class room instruction, for a fee, by the teacher.
