I think the company websites are important, just because people know the name. Agent websites are getting better, but more people know REMAX, than any agent that works there.

I think that it is important for all to have a website, though many are so overloaded with crap that you cannot even find something important like a contact number and email address.

No.  Company websites have many purposes, not just to find homes.

In my franchise it's all about the agent, not the company, so yes, I would say that.

I do not think so.  At the very least it provides contact information and can be a good hub for data and agent info.

I feel that would depend on the company site.  I am an advocate for agents having their own site ... but they need to work on it so it ranks.

The good ones are incredibly important.

The bad ones are not.

The good ones without proper feeder systems are ineffective

The bad ones with good feeder systems are ineffective.

Most broker and franchise sites are to lure newbies into the fold, Newbies have no idea they are seeing a facade masquerading as a vital resource.

I will say I get many leads from the REMAX.com website.

If I am reading your question right I thought you were talking about my Broker's website.  I have my own and send everything to my own website.  I think it is important to capture leads and have something to send business to.  I don't think my Broker's website is beneficial for me, but mine is.

I think the mobile apps are taking over however a website is still important to the not as tech savvy people who will use the websites. People are busier these days than over so I am seeing more mobile app users.

Jack,
I don’t they are or should be obsolete ? The challenge is that web sites do best when they have a very narrow focus and a real estate company is trying to address, sellers, buyers, distressed properties, home search, recruiting agents, and the list goes on and on. And that all should look good and work well on a mobile device.
