Good morning Heather. If you are going to be in this business to make your livelihood, I would absolutely join.

It's the only way to fly in my opinion.
Here you have to.
Do you want to sell real estate? That's your answer
John McCormack, CRS
yes.... the reasons are too many to list...
If you want to be an active agent and have access to listings, how would you avoid joining?
John McCormack, CRS
You do not have to IF that option was part of your business plan.
If however you have NO PLAN, just like all of your classmates, you will soon realize you truly don't have a choice. All those "get more training" companies you will be forced towards will REQUIRE you to join.
Depend. Do you want MLS?
Why would you not? If you intend to be in business it would be the right course of action.
Absolutely if you are serious about getting into this industry.
You want to get access to the MLS in the area you practice in just to look up ALL the information about listings, do CMA's etc. Whether you have to join the actual board in your area, I don't know.
Why wouldn't you?
You probanly don't have a choice, that is if you want to make any kind of money.
You should join Heather.
Absolutely! I belong to both local boards.
I agree with Joe.
Heather if you have to ask I must scratch my head... are you in the long run? If yes then ... you know the answer...Endre
Only if you want access to your local Multiple Listing Service and the electronic lockbox systems.
Absolutely, a chance to Learn, Network and so much more.
In our state you have to or you don't have access to MLS directly.
Out here, you have no choice. Only way to get a supra key and MLS access.
You probably do not have a choice if you are going to be a real estate agent.
Heather I think it would be a wise move.
In some areas it's the only way to get access to MLS membership.
Heather Zollinger To list properties and access MLS you need to join local board.
If you want to be a REALTOR(R) yes.
If you are in California if you are licensed and you want to represent buyers and sellers, I would advise it.
In my area we only have one local board. Membership in the board is required to get access to the MLS.
Do you have a choice in the matter?
Heather Zollinger You probably won't have much choice, if your broker is a member. In my area joining the local Association gives you the keys to the MLS and lockboxes.
Absolutely. Being a Realtor is much more than just having a real estate license. It's a professional standard in the real estate business and much more.
You should, they offer lots of support
Are you a Realtor? If so why would you not?
