It depends, some of the readers don't take time to view the videos and some do.  If you are going to do videos make sure it makes everyone want to see it, it is that good.  A great example are Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD video.  She has a journalistic background, and understanding for story structure and a great voice.  I love her videos.  A

If you are looking for points you will need a fifty word minimum. Use both.

I use videos as well as photos, graphics and those all important words in most of my blog posts both here and on my Wordpress sites.  My policy is to provide information of interest in as many different forms as possible.

Videos are pretty popular and getting more so all the time. I personally would not put a video out there in a post without some commentary, and if you want to get the points for posting you must have 50+ words.

Sharing a video in a longer post about a community, tourist attraction, event, etc. is also a good thing to do, as is including plenty of photos, to add visual appeal! Keep the vids short, probably no more than 2 minutes or so

John - I think a mixture of videos and written blogs is a good idea. However, you have to make sure what you are putting out is attracting the right audience, and not turning them off, so to speak.

Video is great for SEO, but most AR readers will not take the time to watch them.

If they are of decent quality I think they are great.  But most of them are pretty awful.

John Cooper - why not? And in fact, you can also use cartoon type videos to deliver the message.

They are definitely NOT frowned upon!  Some of the wisdom of the day is to move to video blogs, so I highly recommend you have some fun with it!

I would think that they would be good. If they don't want to watch then they do not have to.

Hi John- it would seem that videos are the wave of the future, but I would had words along with it.  Some may not take the time to view it but would read it.  

I believe it is an excellent idea to have video blog. Mixed it up and see what works best for you.

I agree with Jeff Dowler.

Videos are great, but don't just post that. Have some text to go with it. I'm not saying you have to write a novel, but a few words to explain the video. 

With one billion daily users I say it is good in a lot of places.
