Yes, I used to to bring my kid to the office if I had to be there for a short time to pick up something, print or talk to someone for a short time.

Good morning Tanya. Very often clients bring their child or children to a mortgage application appointment, they are always welcomed, but sometimes it is a challenge.

It is rare to take children on listing and showing appointments but it happens.  People are understanding.  Sometimes it works best when the client has their children as well.  Many agents get clients through their children so those clients would be more understanding.

My daughter is older and I always left her at home during my career.  Many of my past clients had/ have no idea I have a family.  When you are out with clients it is all about them.

I feel that on your first meeting with clients at the office, you should not bring your children.  As time progresses and you establish a relationship with your clients, it migth be alright to ask if they mind if your child tags a long for a showing or two.  I would not take them along all the time.

With this career daycare is needed.  Keep it professional and run it like a business.  ;-)

I have taken my grand kids with me to run errands or sometimes to inspections when we just sit there and play on the Ipad, only if need be. I have never taken them to meet a new client. But clients that I know have children of their own, I will bring my granddaughter. Normally this is a tactic move on my part to entertain their kids so I can talk with the client.

I did when they were young, good for children to see their parents work, and good for them to have some jobs too. so as to learn and feel of value.

Now that they are grown those work habits make them invaluable to their employers, and one of them is a partner in my company.

My daughter is 15 and has been coming to work with me for most of those 15 year, I would not take her to a listing appoinment, but have taken her on showings. She is a natural having grown up in the business much like i was. She knows when to talk and when to listen. Sometimes it is not the place for her to come, other times she adds a sense of calmness to the client. She has watched the buyers kids and even been asked about local schools.

My youngest grandchild is about to turn 17 and lives in Colorado... so no kids or grandkids to any work related activity for me now (or ever). Children do not belong in this enviroment and generally will prove to be a distraction.

Make the necessary arrangement to have someone take care of your children when you are working. Lots of liability if something happens in someone elses house.

She's grown now, but oh yes, my daughter grew up in my office and going to work with me.  She was always quiet and polite and it never caused a buyer or seller not to work with me. And my daughter is an amazing and ambitious young woman today.

Tanya - No I do not. I don't think it is professional, and would always find someone to watch my kids if I was working with clients, but that's just me. However, I think it is okay to stop by the office, or bring your child with you if you are working with friends who you have asked, and they don't mind.
